Affirmative:

Subject + past form of the verb + object.

Interrogative:

Did + subject + base form of the verb + object?

The sentences in the Siple Past often include time markers like “yesterday,” “last week,” “in 2018,” etc.

*Regular Verbs: Add -ed to the base form of the verb

  • e.g. walk – walked
  • play – played
  • cook- cooked

*Irregular Verbs:* Use the past form of the verb

  • e.g. go – went
  • ring – rang
  • write – wrote
