House and home seem to be the same. They are different from each other. A home is an abstract concept whereas a house is a concrete concept.

The dictionary meaning of a house is “a building for human habitation.”
House is a building that is made for people to live in. It’s a dwelling place. It is a permanent structure.
Home
In contrast, a home can refer either to a building or to any location that a person thinks of as the place where he lives and that belongs to him. It can be a place where someone was born or spent his childhood.
A home can be a house, a tent, a boat, a roadside pipe, a hut or an underground cave.
Context
When you refer to some place as a house, you are referring to the building or structure which exists physically. But when you refer to some place as your home, you are talking about a place where you and your family live.
People often say that home is where the heart is. Heart is where your emotions are. So home is a place where you feel secure, safe, comfortable, free to express, emotionally connected and loved by your family. When you find a place with the above things to live in…a place you feel belongs to you, you make a house a home. Therefore, home is more personal than a house.
Simply, house is a material thing which one can spend money and buy, but money cannot buy a home. So the saying goes ‘You can buy a house but not a home”.
A house is made with bricks, cement and other material but home is made with emotions, love, care and affection.
That why I said that a home is an abstract concept whereas a house is a concrete concept.
A house will be a house whether someone lives there or not..whether you live there or someone else lives there. A home will be home when you live there having a feeling of belonging, when you live there with your loved ones, with your family members having a comfort zone with an emotional connection.
