In simpler terms, nouns are the names we give to everything around us—people, animals, objects, feelings, concepts, and more. Name of anything is NOUN so they are NAMING WORDS.
Types of Nouns with Examples:
1. Common Noun
• Names general things, not specific ones.
• Examples:
• girl, city, car, book
• “The dog barked loudly.”
2. Proper Noun
• Names specific people, places, or things.
• Always starts with a capital letter.
• Examples:
• John, Paris, Toyota, Harry Potter
• “London is a big city.”
3. Concrete Noun
• Something you can see, touch, hear, smell, or taste.
• Examples:
• apple, chair, music, perfume
• “He ate an apple.”
4. Abstract Noun
• Names an idea, feeling, quality, or concept—not physical.
• Examples:
• love, courage, happiness, freedom
